Is your medical practice website getting you the results you need? If you’ve invested a lot of time and money into your practice website, you know that getting results is where it’s at.   Your site needs to convert visitors into loyal patients. You do that with strategic calls-to-action (CTA).

A CTA can exist in many forms: a signup form, Live Chat, quiz, survey or downloads. Here are 4 tips to maximize your website CTA’s.

  1. Put a reason behind your CTA. “Signup for our newsletter to receive discounts” is one ideal CTA. Site visitors need to know what’s in it for them and why they should take the “action.” To motivate your visitor to click a button, give him or her a compelling reason to do so. If you were in their shoes, what would make you want to take that step?
  2. Keep your CTA’s to a minimum. Better to have 2 excellent CTA’s on your home page than half a dozen weak efforts. They should flow on the page in a strategic manner, from top down, the way people naturally read.
  3. Use color and design in an interesting way. Red is a great “action” color, when used sparingly. Other colors have other results. A qualified graphic designer is familiar with the psychology behind the use of color and design and can help you create CTA’s that deliver results.
  4. Instill a sense of urgency. Studies show that instilling a sense of urgency increases conversion. Examples of this would be “Sign up today for our Newsletter and get 10% off any future purchase in our Optical Center.”

Conversion is the primary goal of your practice website. Spend the time to get it right and fine tune it as results are monitored. It never hurts to test different methods of CTA’s. Done right, CTA’s will help your practice site become the work horse it was meant to be.
